New Roof for Food Pantry

Bill Beeny runs a food pantry in Wright City. As the economy has worsened, more and more people are requesting food from the food pantry. At the same time, fewer people are able to make financial contributions. It creates a bad situation for a humble food pantry! To make matters worse, when our area was hit with a solid week of rain, the food pantry's roof began to leak. Bill also operates a church in the building and a whole in the ceiling soon developed RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of where they have church! Bill kept his sense of humor and said to his church members, "We still want you to come to church, but you're going to need to bring your umbrella!"
Considering that the food pantry already owes over $4,000 to the food bank, it didn't seem right that Bill should have to pay for the roof repairs. He got estimates in the range of $1800 for the job. CrossHaven Church partnered with First Baptist Church of O'Fallon to pull together the money for the materials and a group of men gathered to repair the roof! Bill couldn't be more enthused. Bill's gone through some discouraging times as the economy has made drastic changes to his food program, but he couldn't be more thrilled to have us partner with him to make a difference in the Kingdom of God. Thank you, CrossHaven, for being the hands of feet of Jesus! Our mission is to introduce people to Jesus, develop their relationship with Him, and send them out to impact the world. We want to make a difference, whether it's across the street or across the seas. So thank you for making a difference at Bill's food pantry!
